Description:Deadline for the county clerk or board of election commissioners to complete the tabulation of absentee ballots that were (1) postmarked by the midnight preceding the opening of the polls on Election Day, and were received after the close of the polls on Election Day but not later than 14 days after the election, or (2) not postmarked at all, but did have a certification date prior to the Election Day on the certification envelope, and were received after the close of the polls on Election Day but not later than 14 days after the election.

NOTE: Absentee voters whose ballots were rejected must be sent a notice of such along with the reason for the rejection within two (2) days of the rejection, but in all cases prior to the end of the 14 day period in which to count the absentee ballots. Such voters must be given an opportunity to appear before the election authority on or before the 14 day following the election to show cause as to why the ballot should not be rejected.

BEFORE PROCLAMATION BY ELECTION AUTHORITY
PRIOR TO THE CANVASS in those jurisdictions where in-precinct counting equipment is utilized, the election authority shall re-tabulate the total number of votes cast in 5% of the precincts within the election jurisdiction, as well as 5% of the voting devices used in early voting. AS SELECTED ON A RANDOM BASIS BY THE STATE BOARD OF ELECTIONS.

Description:Last day for registration or transfer of registration in the office of the election authority. Precinct registration may apply to the City of Chicago. Please check with this jurisdiction for registration deadlines.

EXCEPTION: Grace period registration and transfer of registration.

NOTE: UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF NVRA AND/OR RULES PROMULGATED BY THE STATE BOARD OF ELECTIONS IMPLEMENTING THE PROVISIONS OF NVRA. A VOTER REGISTRATION APPLICATION MAY BE EXECUTED WHILE VOTER REGISTRATION IS CLOSED, BUT IN SUCH CASE SUCH APPLICATION SHALL NOT ENTITLE THE APPLICANT TO VOTE AT ANY ELECTION HELD BEFORE REGISTRATION RE-OPENS. APPLICATIONS FOR NVRA REGISTRATION COMPLETED WITHIN THE FIVE (5) DAY PERIOD PRECEDING THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE AT SECRETARY OF STATE FACILITIES AND QUALIFIED AGENCIES MUST BE TRANSMITTED WITHIN FIVE (5) DAYS OF COMPLETION AND MUST BE PROCESSED FOR THE NEXT ELECTION. A MAIL REGISTRATION APPLICATION SHALL BE DEEMED TIMELY FILED IF POSTMARKED PRIOR TO THE CLOSE OF REGISTRATION. IF NO POSTMARK EXISTS OR IF THE POSTMARK IS ILLEGIBLE, THE APPLICATION SHALL BE CONSIDERED TIMELY FILED IF RECEIVED BY THE ELECTION AUTHORITY NO LATER THAN FIVE (5) CALENDAR DAYS AFTER THE CLOSE OF REGISTRATION.

Last day for registration of voters by deputy registrars, including municipal, township, road district clerks and precinct committeemen. Precinct registration may apply to the City of Chicago. Please check with this jurisdiction for registration deadlines.

NOTE: Deputy Registrars must return completed forms to the election authority within 7 days of the day on which they are completed. Registrations accepted during the period of 35 - 28 days before the election must be returned within 48 hours. Registrations accepted on the 28th day must be returned within 24 hours.
