In Illinois, a voter who meets certain criteria may cast an
absentee ballot
in person (at the office of the election authority, select sites, or at a
health care facility) or by mail.
If you have questions about absentee voting see the State Board of Election's
Absentee Voting Pamphlet.
Eligible voters may optionally participate in
early voting.
Early voting locations are listed by jurisdiction on this website.
Voters who missed the deadline to register or transfer their registration due to a move may cast
grace period ballots at the office of the
election authority.
Military or overseas voters should goto:
The MOVE website.
A Military or overseas voter may also request a Ballot using the
federal postcard,
or by contacting the
election authority
for their Illinois address or asking a parent, sibling or spouse to do so.
Additional information on overseas and military voting is available from the
federal voting assistance program.
