Recently appointed to the State Board of Elections, Mr. Gowen has been engaged in the private practice of law since 1969.
He is the principal of Ernest L. Gowen & Associates, Ltd., Frankfort, Illinois. He and his wife, Susan, are long time
residents of Olympia Fields, Illinois, where they have been actively engaged in community affairs. Mr. Gowen received his
B.A. degree in 1965, from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey, and he thereafter earned his J.D. degree in 1969
from DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Will County Bar Association.
